Wh Is Patrick Fleming
Since sophomore year, I’ve taken on key marketing roles, including serving as a Sales and Marketing Associate for Consult Your Community, where I helped a local minority-owned business expand its reach to AU students. As Head Promotional and Marketing Intern for AU Athletics, I gained hands-on experience in sponsorship fulfillment and engagement strategies for students and alumni. At the same time, I led social media efforts for AU Club Basketball, creating dynamic carousel posts and short-form videos to grow the brand—an experience that deepened my passion for marketing and content creation.
In my final semester, I was concurrently a student in my last batch of undergraduate courses and served as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate class at American University. For this undergrad personal branding course, I helped update the course curriculum, created assignments, and led class discussions on multiple course topics. With this experience, I’ve come full circle—growing both personally and professionally while building lifelong friendships and mentorships. I’m incredibly grateful for such a unique and rewarding college journey.
In September 2021, I embraced a new work ethic, earning a 3.78 GPA and Dean’s List recognition. Still undeclared, I discovered my passion for marketing in a Business 1.0 class. Around the same time, I helped revive AU Club Basketball and took charge of its social media, solidifying my decision to pursue marketing as my major and career.
I graduated from Croton Harmon High School in 2021 during COVID-19.
As a two-sport athlete in basketball and soccer, and a regular volunteer at the f, I faced academic challenges and had to improve my work ethic and mindset. The lockdown became a turning point, pushing me to grow with the support of incredible teachers and mentors. With renewed motivation, I earned acceptance into American University as an undeclared major.
